Suggestion on Finance Minister's Facebook Account

Okay, since so many comments being put straight-forward in his profile, let me put it straight too, "Mr. Maintenance" for the facebook profile of finance minister. Before I start, let me clarify that this is not intended to be a criticism but yet another "straightforward" suggestion. If you have still not understood few things about facebook account, lets get them straight here-

1) Facebook profiles are for connecting to open-community network (limited and restricted in many ways) for general people like us.

2) It was not designed or created for any political leaders or minister like Bhattarai ji.

3) You must have tried to copy the Obama style use of the internet publicity. But it will not work in your case for 2 reasons-
a) Our country:- How many people in Nepal use internet? (I don't know , you must know as you are in that position) I guess not more than 5%. And how many of them would really get influenced by this (or let's say utilize this means of interaction with you, as you might say).
b) Limitations:- If you are trying to reach the intellectuals and prospective Nepalese abroad, not many intellectuals are in facebook. Not all those concerned about the issues will add you or provide you with comments on facebook. Moreover, you cannot have more than a limited number of people connected.

4) Facebook group, or page or application created and maintained (NOT BY YOU) are the sensible ways of publicity with the online community. Even Obama had no facebook profile at all- he had a page, and group maintained by campaign organizers.

5) Reaching out this way would not provide you with any genuine idea or suggestion. If people are really serious, they will send you their suggestion by other official way. (Like you you proposed website, that one would be a good idea)

6) Like anti-maoist showing up to listen to your speech in Khullamanch, not all those who add you in facebook are your well-wishers. Again, more possibilities of "go-negative" comments that help you waste your time skimming through those comments, if you really do as claimed.

It would be a wise thing to close this facebook account, if not now as soon as the website is lunched. You should have somebody to select some good comments and suggestions for you to read instead of you going through them all.

Good luck with everything!
I Hope you can contribute something to our country.
